Stolen Hearts

Castles in Spain are crumbling
Stolen Hearts are tumbling back
In brown paper wrapping that’s been washed by the tears and the rain

So you and I go drifting past
The summers end
Too tired to love too tired
To defend
And when we looked our eyes weren’t seeing
And our fingers missed
Stolen Hearts
Taken with a kiss

Brickdust and mortar at my feet
Broken hearts and bittersweet
But the music isn’t over and the coda is the last thing that I hear

So you and I go drifting past
The summers end
Too tired to love too tired
To defend
And when we looked our eyes weren’t seeing
And our fingers missed
Stolen Hearts
Taken with a kiss

The sentimental years are approaching
And songs will turn to sugar
And the spice will not be tasted for the times have all been wasted

So you and I go drifting past
The summers end
Too tired to love too tired
To defend
And when we looked our hands were touching
And our eyes had dried
Stolen Hearts
That have been compromised
