For those of you who are not aware of it, National Novel Writing Month is an annual internet event taking place in November, in which participants commit themselves to writing a 50,000 word novel between 1st and 30th November – an average, so they say, of 1,667 words per day.
I’ve been contemplating it for several weeks and today I’ve taken the plunge and signed up. I’ve an unused and fairly silly idea that’s been sitting around for several years and which strikes me as appropriate for this venture, so I’m going to be going for it. Each instalment – which, hopefully, will be published on a daily basis – will appear on this blog, so tune in each day from November 1st to see how the tale develops.
Will he make it? Can he keep to schedule? Can he constantly invent on a daily basis? Will it be any good?
I’ve no idea. Join me and find out.
And the title of this grand venture?
THE RETURN OF THE PURPLE PUFFIN.
Starting Tuesday.
